Petrochemicals Free Speech

September 17, 2010

Yes, fellow human beings, the Dominium Management Company has again decided to put poison on the grass where we walk with our dogs at Carleton Artists Lofts here in St. Paul. They showed us so much compassion this time by warning us that next week they will execute their crime against the earth and put some more petrochemicals into the Mississippi Watershed.

Here is the response I posted all over the three buildings here. I am tired of confronting the thick, ignorant, corporate mentality that can not empathize with anything but their own greed.

It pains me that the grass where we walk our dogs is again going to be sprayed with poison on Monday. I have heard Jerry, the owner of Carleton Artists Lofts, knows that some dog owners have asked him to stop this unhealthy practice. The powers that be of course claim now and always it is safe. The testing is done with the assumption that the one time dose will do no harm. In the real world that I live in, the truth is that cancers are caused by the build up of exposures in our dogs and us too. The poisons that runoff into the sewer system or through the ground end up in our watershed and therefore end up in the source of our drinking water, the Mississippi River. Also take a whiff as you walk by the grass for the next week, not too often. Your nose and body will tell you that what they spray is not good for our dogs or us. It saddens me that this ignorant use of petrochemicals will be part of our lives next week and for years to come. Please consider talking to other residents about if we want this lawn management practice to continue.

The poisoning earlier this summer.

One Response to “Petrochemicals Free Speech”

  1. Peter says:

Update: After talking to many dog owners over the weekend about their concerns about their dogswith the petrochemicals being put on the dog walking area this week I got a thereatening letter from the Dominium Management Company. If I do not cease and desist putting up “unauthorized signs” around the complex (no damage was done to property), telling the truth about their use of poison, I will be taken to court. Good to know they care about the same about the right to free speech as they do about the health and welfare of our dogs and us. Ignorant Oppressive is always expected.
