“User-friendly” herbicide added to the Watershed thanks to RockTenn

August 15, 2010

Walking two blocks from where I live I came across a RockTenn (industrial paper recyclers”) spraying herbicide on a public sidewalk next to the plant. When I ask him about it he boasted it was “user-friendly” and that he didn’t even bother to wear a mask or gloves anymore when using it and the USDA says…my body on the other hand still feels the petrochemicals in my throat and I have a headache from being there for two minutes tops. Interesting the company has him secretly do the spraying on Sunday morning and does not put up any signs mentioning the poison application. Our watershed thanks you RockTenn for your immoral practice. How do we make it stop? Paraphrasing Derrick Jensen from Endgame I, “What right do all these people and corporations have to destroy the lives of others in the name of profit?” Our addiction to oil is a nasty disease that affects us all.
