Dog and Water Poisoning by Landlord
July 29, 2010
Yesterday, without any notification, the Dominium Management Company that is my landlord (Call (763) 354-5519 and ask for Jerry to to stop using poison), laid down a heavy dose of endocrine disruptors i.e. herbicides on the designated dog walking area where I live. I parked where one of the little green signs was not visible and walked across the poisoned grass with my dog. I can still taste the off-gassing from the toxins in my throat two hours later after working around the poisoned areas for ten minutes. I put up the following signs warning my fellow tenants and dog owners.
I installed these next to the green signs left behind by the Cutting Edge Management Company announcing their crime. The one below was unreadable face down in the mud.

I also posted the signs in the stairwells of the three buildings in our complex which all dog owners must use.

Please consider a call to Jerry at (763) 370-2150 and suggest that any addition of endocrine disruptors to our Watershed and therefore to our drinking water is not safe for him, you, and our dogs. Thanks.
A week later after no word from the owner of the building, Jerry Sovell. I received this email from a low-level employee. Below is my response.
Peter,
This morning I learned you contacted Dominium with concerns regarding the lawn fertilization last week. I was not notified in advance that our lawn care service provider would be putting anything down on the grass. I have already contacted them and requested a meeting to ensure this doesn’t happen again. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
Sincerely,

Thanks Sarah. But to describe this as an inconvenience is not appropriate. This is a serious issue for all the dogs and tenants especially any one with a compromised immune system. I know we all want to live and work in a place that is environmentally safe.
The real issue is that this type of use of petrochemical fertilization is not safe for the watershed, our pets and all of us no matter what kind of notification is provided. It was obvious that the application of the poisons was over done as you could still smell the chemicals four days after the application. When you meet with them could you get a list of what they are putting down on the grass and please pass it along? I need to know as my dog and I walked through it on the day of application as there was no sign upright or present where we walked.
Also who in the management company is taking the responsibility to consider ending the use of these toxins on the lawns and instead hiring a green-lawn service?
Do I also gather that this is Jerry’s way of not getting back to me personally about this health issue even though I called him and emailed him?
thanks, peter
I know that little is going to change here. But at least a couple people will have had a chance for an awake moment, including me.

Subject: Poison on the lawn at Carleton Place Lofts
Hello Claire,
We just spoke on the phone about the poisons/herbicides put on the grass yesterday at Carleton Place Lofts. Despite what what the chemical company will claim and law allows, it is not a safe or healthy practice to add this to the grass on the property where we and our dogs walk. The application for one was so over the top that you can still taste the off gassing in the mouth today when you walk by. There was no written notice that this was going to happen, if that really matters. Anyone that comes into contact with this that has an compromised immune system could get sick. The management could be liable. The addition of these endocrine disruptors to the our already compromised environment is not only just an ignorant practice, it is dangerous for dogs and humans. The runoff of course ends up in the Mississippi River.
As an eco-artist that examines these issues for my living it saddens me that the company that owns the place where I live and pay rent to is not more concerned with the welfare of its clients and their dogs.
Please let me know what can be done about this to not let it happen again.
Thanks for your help Claire with getting this looked into. It is really appreciated.
thanks, peter

Good Day Clare,
Knowing that all of us have the right and desire to live in an environmentally safe place for ourselves and our animals (I am sure you want this in your life too) it is disappointing that no one at Dominium has taken the responsibility to address my concerns about the toxins put on the grass and therefore into our Watershed here at Carleton Place Lofts. This lack of awareness on your companies part about the health of its clients is troubling. I have heard that in the past that tenants were notified by flyer that this poison practice was going to occur (this did not happen this time), but the issue is not about notification it is the use of poison in the first place. I would gather it is also hard to work for a company that uses that type of ignorant practice on its property (this is a lawsuit waiting to happen) when there are alternative services that would not endanger the tenants, dogs, and employees that live here. So since no acknowledgement has occurred of a problem much less an apology and a promise that this will be the last time this happens I will be contacting the appropriate Housing and Environmental Agencies early next week. I hope does not have to come to that. A simple changing of the way the lawn is managed with a promise this will not happen again and an apology to your clients (your tenants) could easily solve this issue. I am sure Dominium has the best interests of us as part of their mission as property management company and would want to take these steps for our health and safety.
Thanks for your time Clare. Could you please do me a favor and forward this to Jon Segner and Jean Ferguson or at least send me their email addresses?
thanks, peter
Hi Peter and all;
Nice approach- I am tempted to call Jerry Myself-
Poisoning tenants is Noir-
as the results will trickle down to the very water they bath in.
Some how people have forgotten that minerals feed the ground which grants life to the plants naturally-
I hope you get this resolved-
perhaps by contacting a soil person?
My problems with being poisoned by my land lord go far deeper than eco / envioro irresponsibility born out of convenience and cost.
these charmers actually poisoned many before me by design…
tenant obsolesce-
move em in get em sick and sweep them of their rights and assists and their health-their
the place I leased for 18 months for our living quarters studio and art show in the house and grounds is severely poisoned -
they knew that the sewer line was draining into the concrete slab of our home and rising up the walls producing the deadly aspergillus fungi, which produces aflatoxins – a nerve agent.
I found this out after I redid ihe interior – sealing all cracks and holes- and removing the filthy carpet and polishing the concrete floors-
we had about 1500 gallons of raw sewage come through our home and yard-
the landlords did nothing – I was forced to clean and repair myself to protect my family and our investment.
things got a lot worse shortly after that. I found out that the entire yard is covered in old sewage sludge and topped off with a thin layer of sod… the city health refused to come until haz mat forced the issue a month and a half after the initial spill.
the health and code compliance depts really exacerbated the matter by acting as the agent for the owner and placed the financial burden upon me to finish the forced remeiadiation. But by then we were too sick – and fearful of the toxins coming from the yard and home – we were in a hotel by then with most of our stuff on site.
I was punished for exposing the issues by having legal orders placed on me by said environmental health dept. that required me to hire haz mat companies to clean handle transport dispose (haz facility) all the contaminated items ( about 6 semi truck and trailers) and store the remainder at a health dept approved site ( I have training as well as a deep working understanding of haz materials having been in an onsite cleaning / remeiadiation professional for years). I could not hire anyone per fed law as an order was placed for haz materials without an explanation or list. ( a layer of compacted clay is under the placed sewage bio mass in the yard- when I breached that layer during the soil turning to fold in the sewage in to my nice lawn – the mind altering vapors came out in force. This is how people caped and covered haz waste dumps in the late ’60′s –
when the environmental health dept and code compliance guy came out we were threatened and insulted then they pulled our water and power just as they had prior to me per public record-
I couldn’t touch my stuff for 3 months or wash anything – during which our stuff was ruined by the elements and worse…
The fungi in the house walls (opened to drain and remediate the sewage) has spread over the entire grounds eating everything in its path – even outdoor grade plastic and rubber-
our attorney was bought as was almost every one else directly involved – even a trusted friend of 3.5 years betrayed me for a handful of money.
The stuff is spreading everywhere now via the air. the soil tested positive for MRSA -
We are alive now due to our homeopathic and naturalpathic skills-
I am posting vid’s and the hundreds of letters on picasa- you tube- flicker- etc. no legitimate attorney will touch this as of yet due to the direct city ( small group within colluding with the “owners” ) The police detectives told me that they can not look at city people unless its during a cut and dry crime- even then its sketchy as this city is a charter– the police told me to bring it to the media-
The mgmt. co- owners have planned to erecrt an over built apt complex on the site and even told me that the fire marshall was preparing a criminal (arson) case against me- I stopped them from torching the place in my name – and I am no longer in there having to leave a huge amount of ground contaminated items goods etc-
now the insurance co for the management co is pushing through a very large total loss claim on a tenant vandalism rider via a adjuster in with them- fully knowing that its been over 6 months since the spill disaster- no certificate of occupancy on record as well as 15+ outstanding code violations from several years ago-
I guess that this is the missing piece (the crime) – our Parrots almost died there as we did – and are faring well again- I am still struggling with brain fog- severe migraines -breathing and connective / anaphase tissue issues but am steadily recovering- we are using diet to flip our bodies PH from acidic to alkaline as well as using a mineral botanical bath soak to rid the toxins.
The health dept wanted us to go to a doctor and get antibiotics for the E-coli staphacoccous bacterias we were exposed to
( although they maintained for months that sewage was not spilled- that no mold fungi was present- ” possible grey water exposure”)
the problem with antibiotics is that they react with an aspergillus infection and can cause shock and or death…
( I found out that a man died in the back house shack 2 years prior to my entrance on site).
as for your immune system, drink your greens blended with lots of lemon juice- ” alkalize or die” is a good book to get – solid foundation for rebuilding your system- It is one of the few books I mostly totally agree with.
I have to go now – and write some more letters and such…
Good fortune with your thing-
Oh – what app is this that you are using?
I want one.
I will send you a link to the horror show if you like.
Peace
BAM
All the best to you BAM. Stunning what you have been through. The criminal way you have been abused and bullied by a sick system is devastating and unfortunately not surprising. I hope you find away from these monsters that have no regard for the landbase, you, and your health. Please send along a link to your web site.
